Starkville Daily News 21 August 1984 James Luther Moreland Funeral services for James Luther Moreland, 75, will be this morning at 10 o'clock in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Jim Vance will officiate. Burial will be in Oktibbeha Memorial Gardens. Mr. Moreland died Sunday at Oktibbeha County Hospital. A native of Calhoun County, he had lived here for 35 years. He was retired from the plant maintenance department at Mississippi State University and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was also a Mason. Mr. Moreland is survived by his wife, Mrs. Erma Webb Moreland of Starkville, a daughter, Mrs. Jammie Bishop of Starkville; a son, Dan Moreland of Starkville; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Etheridge, Mrs. Lola Vowell, Mrs. Eunice Thompson, and Mrs. Odean Christopher, all of Starkville, two brothers, J. Z. Moreland and Jack Moreland, both of Starkville; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the building fund of Calvary Baptist Church.
