JOHN "JACK" K HAYES, Realtor, WWII veteran, Bluemont 10/25/2005 John "Jack" Keller Hayes, 77, of Bluemont, a co-founder of Hayes & Schneider Properties, a real estate agency, died at home Oct. 16. He was born Dec. 14, 1927, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to the late Ernest J. Hayes and the late Ruth Keller Hayes Pacl. Mr. Hayes served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 35th Infantry, 25th Division in the occupation of Japan. He attended George Washington University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a member of the Optimist Club of Arlington and the Edward Douglas White Council of the Knights of Columbus in Arlington. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha VanSant Hayes of Bluemont; a son, John V. Hayes of Charlottesville; two daughters, Mary R. H. Peele of Round Hill, and Suzanne Hayes of Arlington; and a grandson. Memorials may be sent to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W.
