Bio

Parents: John Emmitt NELSON/Rosa Agnes SLAFER. OBIT: Passed away at her home in Taylor at the age of 76 years 8 months, following a long illness. In 1953 they made Sargent, NE their home and Delpha ran the Hotel Cafe. In 1955 they moved to Taylor where Delpha operated the Loup Inn Cafe from 1957-59. Delpha owned and operated the Shamrock Cafe located in the west part of the old Clark Hall and in 1962 turned the entire hall into the notorious Hole In The Wall Bar and Grill which she sold in 1981. She continued the J & D Motel until 1991. She was a loving and generous mother and her life revolved around her family, friends and community. She took great pride in the preservation and expansion of Loup County. To her, Loup County was God's country, the home of her pioneer ancestors. Delpha loved cooking and many fine meals were enjoyed at her large oak table, as well as playing cards, by friends and relatives. She liked to croquet, loved the horse races, traveling and visiting. But her favorite activity was playing cards and many special times were enjoyed with the card club in Taylor.
