Bio

TAYLOR - Rosa Agnes Nelson, 88, of Taylor, died Monday, Dec. 22, at Sargent. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Taylor. The Revs. Nancy Flader and Mike Richards will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday from 1-7 p.m. at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. Mrs. Nelson was born Aug. 26, 1898 (sic), at Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Nicholas and Regina Leu Schlafer. They moved to O'Neill when she was young, later moving north of Taylor. She attended Lone Star School near Taylor. On Oct. 11, 1916, she married Emmitt Nelson. They farmed in Loup County and in the Sargent area, retiring and moving to Taylor in 1976. Mr. Nelson died in 1977. She was baptized in the Catholic faith. Survivors include three daughters, Delpha Predmore of Taylor, Thelma Bridge of Caldwell, Idaho, and Norma Todd of Scottsbluff; four sons, Russell of Gering, Raymond of McGregor, Minn., Leonard of Caldwell, Idaho, and Jimmy of Taylor; 33 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and three sisters, Anna Lemon of Milaca, Minn., Frances Nelson of Sargent and Mabel Britton of Foxboro, Wis. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters. Grand Island Independent, [Grand Island NE], December 24, 1986
