Bio

Albert Lukesh Rites June 17 Albert Lukesh was born October 20, 1894 in Valley County to John and Antonia Penas Lukesh and died June 14, 1989 at the Burwell Nursing Home in Burwell, Nebraska at the age of 94. Albert was raised in Valley County and attended rural school at Dist. #49. As a young man Albert operated a steam engine on his fathers threshing machine. He also was a musician and played in a band for several years with his younger brother. He married Agnes Slossar on June 26, 1918. They farmed on different farms in the Geranium area of Valley County. Agnes died in 1955. Albert later began living with his son and in 1974 moved into Ord where he continued to be cared for by his son Richard until Richards health failed and he entered the Burwell Nursing Home in 1984. Albert was a 50 year member of the ZCBJ Lodge #112. Survivors include two daughters, Emma Fischer and Agnes Fischer both of Burwell; eleven grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Minnie Gizinski of Shelton, WA and one brother Eldon Lukesh of Ord. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, and infant daughter, one sister and five brothers. Funeral services were held at the Ord Memorial Chapel with burial in the Bohemian National Cemetery at Comstock. Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, June 22, 1989, Page 8, Column 2.
