Bohumil Aksamit, 25, born Nebraska, son of Vincent & Mary (Woleshensky) Aksamit, and Bessie Koci, 21, born Bohemia, daughter of James & Mary (Jirgl) Koci, were married February 14, 1899 at Wilber. Aksamit Dies April 10th Mrs. William Aksamit, Sr., who has been in ill health the past year, passed away south of Deweese. The funeral was held at the Christian Church in Deweese Friday afternoon, April 12. Rev. K.O. Zavadil had charge of the services. He preached one sermon in Bohemian and one in the English language. A quartet from the Catholic church sang one song in their language, and a quartet from the Christian church sang the American songs. Each quartet was accompanied by their own pianist. Burial was in the Fairfield cemetery (sic). ================== The Fairfield Auxiliary (Fairfield, NE), Thursday, April 18, 1940; pg. 1 MRS. BESSIE AKSAMIT Mrs. Bessie A. Aksamit, nee Koci, was born February 25th, 1877, in Hyskov, Czechoslovakia, and died at her home in Deweese, Nebr., Tuesday, April 10, 1940, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 15 days. She came to American in 1885 with her parents, directly to Crete, Nebr., where she grew to her young womanhood. On February 14, 1899, she was united in marriage to Bohumil W. Aksamit. This union was blessed with four children. A daughter, Mary, died at the age of 18 years She was one of the early settlers besides being a beloved wife and mother. She was a true companion and willing helper to all her neighbors and friends, and her wonderful and industrious life Is a shinng (sic) example to all. The family lived south of Deweese on a farm where she was well known and highly respected by every one who knew her. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, one daughter, Lillie of Calpet, Wyo.; two sons, Longin and William, both of Deweese; 8 grandchildren; 6 sisters; 3 brothers; and a host of relatives and friends. Out of town relatives attending the funeral of Mrs. B.W. Aksamit were Mrs. Kothe of Glen Rock, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Kothe of Calpet, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. and Mrs. Joe Molzer, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Molzer, Milo Molzer, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hronik, Mrs. Helen Lisece, all of Crete; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kesenbrock and son, Millie and Evelyn Molzer of Omaha; Mrs. Emil Vokoun and Evelyn Victor of Hallam; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Baloun, Mrs. Gus Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Baloun and family, Bill Baloun, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Koci and family, all of Hebron; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Koci and family of Belvidere; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koci and Mr. and Mrs. Bouska of Edgar; Mrs. Elizabeth Koci and son, Henry; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Broz of Pleasant Hill; Mrs. Adolph Aksamit, Steve and Arthur, and Mrs. Ed Svoboda of Crete; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Souchek and Frank Horinek of Atwood, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stichka and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hepler of Nelson; Mrs. Elizabeth Blackwood of Cortland, Kans.; and Lorene Svoboda of Grand Island.
