Frank Stichka, 29, born Nebraska, son of Frank & Barbara (Varna) Stichka, and Annie Koci, 20, born Nebraska, daughter of James & Jennie (Kirtec) Koci, were married February 13, 1906 at Wilber. (Source: Saline County, NE Marriage Records) ========================================= The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, April 4, 1968 Mrs. Anna (Koci) Stichka passed away at the Good Samaritan Home March 29, 1968. She was born near Crete, Nebraska April 13, 1886, the daughter of James and Jennie Karetha Koci. On February 6, 1906 Anna was united in marriage to Frank Stichka and to this union eight children were born. They are Mrs. Alice Blackwood, Mrs. Anna Disney, Mrs. Elizabeth Hepler, Mrs. Bessie Reeve, Mr. Edward Stichka, Mr. Emil Stichka, Mr. Anton Stichka, and William Stichka. She was preceded in death by one son, William, in 1939, and by her husband in 1958. She spent her entire life on the farm until 1955 when the family moved to Nelson. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, three sisters and brothers and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the First United Presbyterian Church April 1 in Nelson, conducted by Rev. James Hendrickson. Casket beaters were Bill Aksamit, Eddie Souchek, Stephen Disney, Victor Broz, Gus Ray and Henry Baloun. Arrangements were by the Klawitter Funeral Home with burial in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
