Bio

Julius was born in Wongrowity, Province of Posen, Germany, the son of Gottlieb and Julianna Wentland Kerlin. He came to America in 1881, landed in New York Port, and went to stay with a sister in Dayton, Michigan. In 1883 he came to Richland. He married Anna (Annie) Heintze Kerlin in 1888 who had come from Germany in 1881 when she was 10 years old. Julius died in Stromberg Hospital, Taylor, Texas. Julius and Annie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 18, 1938. Their children were Edward Wilhelm, Alvinea Alma Anna, Emma Wilhelmine, Julius Alfred, Amanda Emilie, Lina Julia, Herbert and Walter Bernhardt.
