Researched and compiled by the Kartchner Brothers A Descendant of the Kartchner/Wilcox family of Philadelphia The second daughter of Maryetta Peck and Skyler Schamp, granddaughter of Maryetta Pigg and Thomas JL Peck, Sarah Schamp Born: 27 December 1899 Married Melvin Patchen in Ericson, Nebraska, [Note: Their actual residence was in Evansville, an oil town approximately 2.5 miles east of Casper, Wyoming.] Obituary - Mrs Sara Patchen Claimed By Death Last rites for Mrs Sara Patchen, 38, a resident of Evansville, who passed away at a hospital, will be conducted from Gay mortuary Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. The Rev William Hints, pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate. The deceased had been a resident of this district for 20 years. Survivors include her husband, Melvin; Mrs Catherine Vincent, Evansville; Mrs W. J. Sheppard, Casper; Delma, Irene and Etta Hettie Patchen of Evansville; her father Skyler Schamp Sr of Ericson, Neb; L.M. Patchen, Evansville; two brothers, Skyler Schamp Jr and Lawrence Schamp, both of Ericson; two sisters, Mrs F Miska, Ord, Neb and Mrs Francis Keezer of Ericson. "Casper Times", 3 May 1938 Note Daughter Lena first marriage was to Wilmer Jennings Sheppard in 1938, Bernalillo, New Mexico. She was listed in 1939 directory with him and single with family in 1940 census - a Texas Birth Record had them having a daughter "Juanita Jane" in Harris Co Texas Jan 26, 1941, it appears that they divorced in October 1941 in Casper, Wyoming. Suggesting that the daughter was adopted by Edgeington, a Juanita Edgeington was found in a 1957 Casper High School Year book. [ Researched and compiled by the Kartchner Brothers ]
