Red Cloud Chief July 23, 2003 LAWRENCE O SCHAMP Inavale resident Lawrence O Schamp, 94, died Friday July 11, 2003 at the Franklin Nursing Center in Franklin. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Simonson Williams Funeral Home chapel in Red Cloud with the Rev Dorthea Fairbanks officiating. Burial will be in Guide Rock cemetery. Mr Schamp was born April 27, 1909 to Schuyler and Etta (Peck) Schamp at Ericson. He attended rural school in the Burwell area. On April 27, 1935,he married Mildred Kiehl at Red Cloud. He broke horses and farmed at Ericson and Greeley before moving to Inavale in 1941. In 1976 they moved to Guide Rock. His wife died on April 16, 1987. He later returned to the farm at Inavale. Survivors are two sons, Malvin of Smith Center, Kan and Clarence of Ashland;one daughter, Eileen Harrifeld of Hastings; two sisters, Mae Kinney of Burwell and Nellie Schiebel of Stamford; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He also was preceded by on son Clair; one daughter Lorraine Elliott; one grandson; five brothers and four sisters.
