Raymond Bob Sproles Sr., 77, of Lubbock died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Bender Terrace Nursing Home. The family will host a visitation at Sanders Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted the following Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park with Rev. Cecil Foster officiating. He was born Nov. 25, 1925, in New Home, Texas. He was a World War II veteran and served as a past commander of the V.F.W. He was a past president of the Texas Restaurant Association, a member of the Masons, and a member of the Lions Club. He married Betty Newton on Oct. 25, 1987. Survivors include his wife, Betty; three sons, Raymond Bob Jr. of Wichita Falls, Richard of Austin, and Randal of Lubbock; two daughters, Roseanne Decker of Lubbock and Rhonda Carter of Rowlett; three stepdaughters, Glenda Thornton of Lubbock, Frances Newton-Peasland of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Nancy Stone of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren, Autumn, Monica, Destiny, Brian, Amber, Robert, Lee, Candace, Kimberly, Erin, Kaycee, and Kyle; two great-grandchildren, Delissa and Honey; three brothers, Jack of Lubbock, Troy of Grand Prairie, and Leon of Lubbock; and two sisters, Betty Moore of Lubbock and Virginia Miller of Hot Springs, Ark.
