Sykora Funeral Held Monday Funeral services for Vincent John Sykora, 70, longtime resident of the Megargel area, were held at 9:30 am. Monday from the Catholic Church at Megargel, with Father William Caldwell officiating. Sykora, who had been in ill health for about a year, died of heart trouble at Olney Hamilton Hospital at 8 p m. Friday. A farmer and grocery clerk, Sykora had lived in the Megargel area since 1904. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the KJT Lodge of Megargel. He was born Julv 1, 1887 at Shiner. Texas. He first married Annie Kreneck, who later died, and later married Lydia Pavlick, who survives. Other survivors are one son, Bill Sykora of Megargel; two daughters, Mrs. Dabnev Rogillio and Mrs William H. Peters, both of Fort Worth; two brothers, Jake Sykora and Frank Sykora, both of Westover; and one sister, Mrs. Ben Brunn of Westover. A son by his first marriage, Vincent Charles Sykora, died in a Japanese prisoner of war camp while serving with the U. S. forces in World War II. Burial was in Megargel Cemetery, with Lunn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
