Rites Scheduled For John Sykora John J. Sykora, 69, well-known area farmer and rancher, died at 11:50 p. m. Wednesday at Hamilton Hospital. He had been ill with a heart ailment for a year. Funeral services are to be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Catholic Church in Megargel, with Father Francis officiating. Burial will be in Megargel Cemetery, with Lunn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born January 6, 1885, in Yoakum, Lavaca County, Sykora first came to this general area almost a half century ago. He moved to Westover in Baylor County in 1905, returning after a short time to Yoakum, where on February 4, 1913 he was married to Janie Benes. She died in 1950. The Sykoras moved to Young County in 1913, settling in the Spring Creek community a few miles southwest of here, where he had been engaged in farming and ranching ever since. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. A. A. Wrobleski of Fort Worth and Miss Aline Sykora of Dallas; two sons, Johnnie C. and Louis Sykora of Spring Creek; two brothers, Frank and Vincent Sykora of Megargel; and three grandchildren.
