The Olney (Texas) Enterprise Thursday, December 26, 1974 Sykora Rites Held Friday Services for Frank J. Sykora, 84, a resident of Baylor County, who died Wednesday in a Seymour hospital, were at 10 a.m. Friday in the Catholic Church of Assumption of the Blessed Mary in Megargel. Rev. David Redmond, pastor, officiated. Rosary was at 7 p.m. Thursday in Seymour Memorial Funeral Home. Born December 1, 1890 in Shiner, Sykora had lived near Seymour 75 years. He was a retired farmer, veteran of World War I, and a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Gerik of Lawton, Okla., Mrs. Frank Hons of Seymour, and Maxine Sykora of the home; and a sister, Mrs. Louise Brom of Megargel. Enlisted July 9, 1917 at Wichita Falls, TX (Company F of the 7th Texas Infantry. He served overseas from 18 July 1918 thru 6 June 1919. He was in the Machine Gun Company of the 142nd Infantry, and participated in the Meuse-Argonne offensive from 6 to 29 October 1918. He was honorably discharged on June 20, 1919
