Bio
Mary Jane (Billips) Snell was born 15 Apr 1851 in Wheeling Heights, Ohio County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Gideon Lewis and Lucinda (Howery) Billips. She departed this life at her home in McFall, Gentry County, Missouri on 31 May 1935 at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 16 days. She was united in marriage to Albert Lee Snell on 18 Apr 1869. To this union 10 children were born, 2 of whom preceded her in death. Those living are: Mrs. Georgia Hecker (Corning, Missouri), Rutherford Snell, Stella Music, Ethel Willis, and Elza Snell (all of McFall, Missouri), Harry Snell (Garnett, Kansas), John Snell (Kansas City), and Grace Shoupe (St. Joseph). There are 40 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Millie Damon (Bradford, Illinois); and one brother, W. L. Billips, (Hills City, Kansas). She was converted at an early age and was a good Christian companion to her husband, who preceded her in death. Funeral Services were conducted by Rev. W. A. Hyde at the Baptist Church in McFall on 03 June 1935. Burial in Heath Cemetery.
