Bio

Gideon Billips was married to Lucinda Howery in Kanawha, Virginia in 1848. They had four children, Eliza M., Mary J., William L., and Sarah. Gideon married Levisa Murdock January 27, 1863 in Lawrence, Ohio. They had four children, Joseph M., Millie, Samuel and James. Gideon was a boatman in 1850 Census and a farmer in both 1860 and 1870 censuses. Today I found a site that says that Gideon's middle name is William and not Lewis, I will work on confirming this information. I received information from Levisa Murdock's nephew Carl that Gideon was married a third time to Mary Ann Thomas on 15 Dec 1870 in Lawrence Co., Ohio. He also told me that Gideon and Lucinda had another child Nancy S. Billips 1853-1854, born and died in Noyes Hollow, Kanawha, West Virginia.
