Born in the village of H. Becva, town of Frenstadt, county of Njicin, Moravia, Austrian Empire (now in Czechia). '''''''''''''''''''' The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), May 21, 1931, p. 1, col. 3 LONG TIME RESIDENT DIES AT LOMA Joseph Kantor, Sr., resident of this community for many years, died at his home in Loma about six-thirty o'clock Wednesday morning, following illness of but four days. Had he lived four days longer he would have been eighty-six years of age. Joseph Ignac Kantor was born in Moravia, May 24, 1845. He grew to manhood there and on July 3, 1879 was united in marriage to Miss Frantiska Cerveni. They immigrated to America and settled in Saunders county, Nebraska, later moving to a farm four miles northeast of Brainard, where they resided until retiring and moving into Loma several years ago. Mr. Kantor is survived by his wife and twelve children, five son and seven daughters: Joseph Kantor of Chicago, Mrs. J. C. Waiss, Miss Agnes Kantor and Matt Kantor of Loma, Mrs. Lawrence Maixner, John and Frank Kantor of Bee, Nebr., Dr. D. B. Kantor of Sargent, Nebr., Mrs. J. J. Lorenz of Britt, Iowa; Mrs. Louis Mergl of Brainard, Mrs. Frank W. Janak of David City and Mrs. Hubert Meduna of Weston. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Anna Krhut living in Moravia, thirty-eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) morning at ten o'clock at St. Luke's Catholic church in Loma, conducted by Rev. Michael Pazourek. Mr. Kantor was a member of the Katolicky Delnik society.
