STATESVILLE - Roy Leonard Johnson, 72, of 214 S. Oakwood Drive died Sept. 23, 1992, at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. A native of Caldwell County, he was a retired supervisor from Blanton and Moore, an Ancient, Free and Accepted Mason and a member of Mount Moriah Lodge 690. Surviving are wife, Mrs. Violet S. Johnson; sons, Mark C. Johnson of Oak Ridge, Ronald L. Johnson of Manhattan, Kan., David L. Johnson of Denver, N.C.; brothers, Edgar L. Johnson of Lincolnton, George I. Johnson of Panama City, Fla., Marvin E. Johnson of Granite Falls; sisters, Mrs. Edith J. Adams, Mrs. Helen J. Early, both of Granite Falls; six grandchildren. Nicholson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 740 N. Center St., Statesville, N.C. 28677.
