EDGAR LEE JOHNSON LINCOLNTON- Edgar Lee "Johnny" Johnson, 92, of Startown Road, died August 15, 1997, at his residence. Born March 7, 1905, in Granite Falls, he was a son of the late Marvin Cyrus and Eula Mae Fowler Johnson. A longtime member of First United Methodist Church, he was former president of the Men's Bible Class, a branch office manager for Lance Inc. for 22 years, a warehouse manager for Bloomcraft for 10 years, and a mason for 57 years. Survivors include his wife, Kate Hines Johnson; two daughters, Kay Mann of Burlington and Barbara Carter of Lincolnton; two brothers; George I. Johnson of Panama City, Fla. and Gene Johnson of Granite Falls; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Ben Wilson and Harold Leatherman at 3 p.m. today at his church. Masonic graveside services by Lincoln Lodge 137 AF&AM will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, P.O. Box 1526, Lincolnton, N.C. 28093.
