An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, 9-10-1987: Norris Gene Sexton, 52, of Gatesville died Sept. 6 in Coryell Memorial Hospital. Services were held Sept. 7 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Curtis Beaird officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery. Born Oct. 31, 1934 in Gatesville, he was the son of the late Richard and Dolly Mae Sexton. He was a lifelong resident of Coryell County. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1954. He served as the county's only Engineer Technician V through the Texas Highway Department where he was employed for the past 32 years. He was the past coach for the Gatesville Little League Basketball program. He was preceded in death by a son, Torri Sexton in 1975. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gatesville. Survivors include two daughters, Leigh Ann Wingate of Killeen and Lori Elaine Keener of Gatesville; three brothers, Raymond Sexton of Dallas, Don Sexton of Lewisville and Billy Carl Sexton of Gatesville; and one granddaughter , Rachel Leigh Keener of Gatesville.
