An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, January 26, 1962: Sidney Louis (Sid) Moore, 81-year-old retired farmer, died of a sudden heart attack at 8:50 a. m. Monday at his home, 106 West Leon Street, in Gatesville. Mr. Moore had lived in Gatesville the last ten years. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. G. L. Derrick and Rev. Leland Hayes, were held at 3 p. m. Tuesday at Scott's Funeral home. Burial was in Restland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Claud Collins, R. Q. Moore, T. J. Moore, Audley Harris, Homer L. Freeman and Jake N. Rhoades. Mr. Moore was born in Williamson County Jan. 30, 1880. He was married to Miss Dora Rhoades March 27, 1903, and they lived in the Arnett and Purmela communities until 1942, when they moved to Dublin. They came to Gatesville in 1952. Survivors are his wife; one son, John L. Moore of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Claude D. Turner of Gatesville; one brother, Ira Moore of Gatesville; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Barrington of Fort Worth, Mrs. Walter Freeman of Purmela, Mrs. Fronia Boling of Ireland and Mrs. Rosie Gregory of Hamilton; and two grandchildren, Frances Turner of Gatesville and Jimmie Moore of Corpus Christi.
