An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenegr & Star Forum," Friday, December 14, 1962: Mrs. Sid Moore, 86, a resident of Gatesville the last ten years, died last Friday morning in the Gatesville hospital. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Scott's Chapel, Rev. S. E. Tullock officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery, and pallbearers were Claude Collins, J. B. Martin, Jake Rhoads, Kenneth Rhoads, Brian Jones and Cecil Askins. Mrs. Moore, a native Texan, was Miss Dora Rhoads before her marriage to Mr. Moore March 27, 1903. They lived in the Arnett and Purmela communities before moving to Dublin in 1942. They came to Gatesville in 1952. Mr. Moore died last January. Mrs. Moore was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Claud Turner of Gatesville; one son, John L. Moore of Corpus Christi; a sister, Mrs. Cora Williams, of Hico; one brother, Henry Rhoads of Dallas; and two grandchildren. A daughter, Opal Moore, died in infancy.
