COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Elsie B. Vsetecka, 88, of Colorado Springs, formerly of WaKeeney, died Dec. 24 in Colorado Springs. She was born Nov. 8, 1921, in La Crosse, the daughter of Joseph F. and Rose (Krotz) Oborny. She married Joseph A. Vsetecka on Jan. 8, 1945, at Timken. He survives, of the home in Colorado Springs. Other survivors include a son, Don Vsetecka and companion Rochelle Stasi of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Lana Scyhmos and husband John of Colorado Springs; a sister, Mary Gerstenkorn of Great Bend; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Vsetecka and Rose Suchy. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney. Great Bend (Kan.) Tribune, Dec. 29, 2009
