Wood River: published in Wood River, Nebraska Friday, 16 June 1916, page 1 Wood River is called upon to mourn the loss of one of her fine young women in the person of Miss Anna Curry who passed away at her home Wednesday afternoon at 1:52 o'clock, from a complication of diseases, aged 28 years and 26 days. Miss Curry had been in poor health since last November but of late had nearly recovered and only last Sunday her approaching marriage to Mr. LeRoy Francis was announced for the first time in St. Mary's church by Rev. Father Lynch. Last Sunday evening about midnight she was taken suddenly ill and soon became unconscious and despite the efforts of her physician she passed away as above stated. Funeral services will be held Saturday of this week from St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock conducted by Father Lynch and interment will be had in St. Mary's cemetery. Miss Anna Curry was born in Jackson tp., Hall county, May 18, 1888, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Curry, and there she grew to womanhood, later attending the Wood River schools, being a graduate of the class of 1906. The deceased is survived by her mother and one brother, John Curry of Wood River, and five sisters, Mrs. Mamie O'Brien and Mrs. Delia Mattoon of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Nellie Knight of Oregon City, Oregon, and Mrs. Fannie Wickersham and Miss Theresa Curry of Wood River. . .
