Sidney R. Janek, 67, of Mount Calm died Sunday, June 13 in a Waco hospital. Rosary and prayer services were Monday at 8 p.m. in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in West Brethren Church with Rev. Lawrence Junek officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Janek was born July 14, 1914, in Hill County and lived there all his life. He was a farmer, a member of West Brethren Church and past director of Penelope Co-op Gin, Penelope School Board and Birome Water Supply. He was married to Agnes Nors on Nov. 27, 1939 in Penelope. Survivors include his wife; one son, Clarence Janek of Mount Calm; one brother, Rudolph Janek of Brandon; one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Lillian) Nors of Abbott; and four grandchildren.
