Estelle Neckar Wachsman, age 86 of Lott, formerly of West, passed away Saturday morning, April 1, 2000. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Another rosary was recited at 2 p.m. Tuesday, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:15 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West, conducted by V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West. Mrs. Wachsman was born December 13, 1913 in McLennan County and had lived in the Chilton-Lott area for a number of years. She was a registered nurse and an alumna of Providence Hospital School of Nursing under Sister Vincent. She was a veteran, having served in the Army as a nurse during World War II in the South West Pacific. Mrs. Wachsman was a caregiver for less fortunate people in the community. Active pallbearers were John Kaluza, Anton Kaluza, Mike Kaluza, Rick Kaluza, Tommy Petter and Eugene Hrabal, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Wachsman's nieces and members of West V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West. Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Hrabal of Waco; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Kotch Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
