ormer West Councilman Dies Tuesday Albert Vrana, age 73, of 606 W. Broadway, West, passed away Tuesday afternoon in Temple, Texas. He had been in ill health for several months. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, June 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Msgr. George Doskocil as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Vrana was a charter member and former officer of V.F.W. Post 4819. He was a member of American Legion #478, the Knights of Columbus #2305, and was a former city councilman for the City of West. He owned and operated Albert's Café on I-35 in West for many years prior to his retirement. He also served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He married Katherine Davidson in West. She died in October, 1974. Survivors include three sons, Harry Vrana of Longview, Texas, Don Vrana of Dallas and Doug Vrana of Abbott; three brothers, Jim Vrana of Waco and Justin and Julius Vrana of California; two sisters, Angeline Kahanek of Houston and Rosie Smith of Dallas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Active pallbearers were Joe Vitek, Johnny Bailey, Mack Bailey, Jake Hargrove, Joe Mynar, and Henry Snokhous. Honorary pallbearers: Charlie Isenberg, Jack Schroeder, Eddie Nemecek, Emil Fridel, Wick Devers, and Jimmy Hykel.
