Rudolph Vanzura, 68, Dies; Rites Held Friday Rudolph L. Vanzura, 68, of West died at 3 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 23 in a Waco hospital. Requiem Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Church of the Assumption with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Kotch Funeral Chapel in West. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Vanzura was born in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States at the3 atge of 3. He had lived in the West area for the past 65 years. He was a retired farmer, a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305, SPJST Lodge No. 54, of West, and VFW Post 4819. He had served in the U.S. Army. Survivors are his wife, Julie Vanzura; two sons, Edward Vanzura of Lakeland, Fla., and Raymond Vanzura of Hollywood, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Gaiser of West, and Mrs. Johnny Mazanec of Waco; one brother, Ben Vanzura of West; two sisters, Mrs. Vinc Sula of West and Mrs. Frances Pustejovsky of Cuero; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
