Evelyn J. Gaiser, age 89, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 17, 2014 at The Atrium in Bellmead. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Evelyn was born October 21, 1925 in Tours, the daughter of Rudolph and Julie (Macicek) Vanzura. She attended school in Tours and graduated from West High School. On November 4, 1943, Evelyn was united in marriage to Ernest Alfonse Gaiser in West. Ernest preceded her in death on July 25, 1981. She worked as an electrician for Broadmore Mobile Homes in Waco, and also worked for Burlington Mills and Michelle's Restaurant in West. Evelyn was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, riding around in the country, fishing, and playing dominoes. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn is also preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Vanzura and Edward Vanzura. Survivors include a son, Michael Gaiser and wife Mary of West; a daughter, Debbie Leuschner and husband Dion of West; a sister, Mollie Mazanec and husband Johnny of Waco; four grandchildren, Megan Gaiser, Troy Allen, Julie Sexton and husband Harold, and Preston Leuschner; four great grandchildren, Devin, Keila, Kearstyn, and Kylie; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Harold Sexton, Dion Leuschner, Clyde Vrba, Kolt Kapavik and Devin Allen.
