Joe Tichavsky, 78, Dies; Rites Held Tuesday Joe F. Tichavsky, 78, of West died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday in a Waco hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption at West, with Rev. Edward Dokupil as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Tichavsky was born near Tours and had lived in the West-Tours area all his life. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and was a retired farmer. Survivors are one son, Louis Tichavsky of Itasca; four daughters, Mrs. Adolph Grones and Mrs. Jerry (Leona) Bezdek, both of Abbott, Mrs. Walter (Lily) Adair and Mrs. Ernest Kallus, both of Hillsboro; two brothers, Willie Tichavsky of Tours, and Frank Tichavsky of Abbott; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Gerlich of Abbott, Mrs. Sophie Gerlich of West, Mrs. Minnie Rabel of Austin and Mrs. Frances Cleveland of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Henry Gerlich of Abbott, Henry Bartosh and Eugene Gerlich both of Waco, Billy Nors and Louis Bajer both of West, Raymond Tichavsky of Austin, Johnny Bartosh of Corpus Christi and Raymond Klanika of Taft.
