Ignac J. Sykora, Age 72, Dies Ignac Joe Sykora, 72, of West, died Sunday evening in the West Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Rev. William Benish celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mr. Sykora was a native of the Tours community. He had been a resident of West for the past three years. Prior to that, he had lived in Galveston for 32 years. He was a mechanical engineer for Galveston Ice and Cold Storage Co. for more than 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, West, and of West K.J.T. Mr. Sykora married Albina Vrba, Jan. 19, 1942. Survivors include his wife; four brothers, Eugene Sykora of Bloomington, Joe Sykora of Houston, Raymond Sykora of Corpus Christi and John Sykora of Bellmead; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Grones of West, Mrs. Janie Titus of Bellmead and Mrs. Bounds of Waco. Pallbearers were Bobby Bounds, Raymond Lenart, Alan Uptmore, Tony Vrba, Randy Howell, and Pat Uptmore. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 86, No. 40, Edition 1, Thursday, October 7, 1976, page 6.
