Mrs. Pete (Bertha) Sykora, age 87 of West, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 12, 1996 in Providence Hospital. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Sykora was born February 20, 1909 in Mount Calm and had lived in the West area all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, the Altar Society, KJZT Society #11 and the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. She married Pete Sykora October 14, 1929 at West. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1965. Mrs. Sykora is survived by one brother, Louis Pustejovsky of West; one sister, Annie Krenek of West; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Ron Kershen, Sammy Sykora, Ed Sykora, Joe Mynarcik, Jr., Robert Sykora and Lambert Pustejovsky. Kotch Funeral Home of West is in charge of arrangements.
