August Sykora Dies; Rites Held Thursday August Sykora, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of the West area, died Tuesday night in the Marlin V.A. Hospital. He was 71. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kotch Chapel. Rev. Oliver Johnson officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Sykora was born at West and had lived in the West area all his life. He was a veteran of World War I, and a Catholic. Survivors are three brothers, Ludvik Sykora and Louis Sykora, both of West, and Andrew Sykora, Sr., of Waco, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Maca of Kingsville. Pallbearers were Andrew Sykora, Jr., Charles Dillon, Johnny Kohut, Leonard Sykora, George Nesrsta, and Arnold Svacek.
