V.J. Svrcek, Age 72, Dies V.J. Svrcek, 72, of 302 S. Davis passed away at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday at West Community Hospital. Mr. Svrcek was born in West and lived here all of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and KJT Society #31. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. V.A. Svrcek, Rev. Walter Matus and Rev. George Doskocil as co-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Albina, 4 sons, Willie Svrcek of Waco, Edward Svrcek of Waco, Edward Svrcek, Johnny Svrcek and Herman Svrcek all of Dallas; 1 daughter, Mrs. Joe (Lillian) Mach of Waco; 2 stepsons, Marvin Matus of Dallas and Rev. Walter Matus of Bryan. Also 7 brothers, Ladin J. Svrcek of West, Rev. V.A. Svrcek of Waco, Ivan Svrcek of West, Clement J. Svrcek of Aquilla, Elo J. Svrcek and Cyril Svrcek both of Rt. 2, West and Joe F. Svrcek of Corsicana; 1 sister, Miss Alice Jane Svrcek of West; 20 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
