Bio

WEST- Samuel W. (Sammy) Soukup, 58, of Dallas, formerly of West, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 17, 2004, in a Dallas hospital. Rosary will be recited at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:15 p.m. with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Soukup was born Jan. 4, 1946, in West and had lived in Dallas most of his life. He graduated from West High School in 1964 and North Texas University in 1969. He was an expediter for Bechtel Company of Houston. He was also employed with Lone Star Gas and Ford-Bacon and Davis in Dallas for a number of years. Mr. Soukup was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Lancaster. Survivors include three sisters, Freida Burton of Lancaster, Mary Sybert and husband Bob of Lido Vista, Texas and Monica May and husband John of Lancaster; a brother, Ed Soukup and wife Doris of Houston, and several nieces and nephews. Kotch Funeral Home, West, Texas, is in charge of arrangements. Published by the Dallas Morning News, November 19, 2004.
