Bio

Louis Snokhous, Jr. Killed In Car Wreck Near Leroy Saturday Tragedy visited this community last Saturday evening when Louis Snokhous, Jr., age 15, was fatally injured in an automobile collision near Leroy. According to reports, the accident occurred shortly after 7 o’clock when the car driven by young Snokhous collided with the automobile driven by Leo Schroeder of Tours as the two vehicles were crossing a narrow bridge near Leroy. Louis was killed instantly and Alfonse Kapavik and Laddie Kasprak, who were riding with him, received only minor cuts and bruises. Schroeder, lone occupant of the other car, also escaped with only minor injuries. Both vehicles were badly damaged. Louis Snokhous, Jr., was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Snokhous, Sr., of this city. He was born and reared in West and attended both public schools. His death was a great shock to the entire population of this community and he leaves many friends who mourn his untimely passing. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, with Rev. E. J. Polcak officiating. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery near town. Pallbearers were: Charlie Jares, Charlie Sulak, Harry Lichnovsky, Robert Navratil, Richard Macicek and Alfonse Kapavik. Survivors are: his parents; two sisters, Angeline and Evelyn Snokhous; two brothers, Jimmie and Raymond, all of West.
