Jimmy R. Snokhous, age 62 of West, passed away Saturday night, June 18, 1994 in a West hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday by Rev. Melvin Dornak at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, near West. Mr. Snokhous was born April 12, 1932 near West and had lived in the West area all of his life. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305, V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West, the West Fire Department, St. Mary's Quarterback Club for a number of years, having served as Vice President, and was a coach and umpire for the West Little League. Mr. Snokhous graduated from West High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1955. He was employed at Snokhous Plumbing Company in West for 28 years and was a self-employed plumber for the past five years. He married Louise Jares on July 21, 1962 in West. Survivors include his wife, Louise of West; three sons, Douglas and Robert Snokhous, both of West and Barry Snokhous of Eglin Air Force Base in Florida; one daughter, Mrs. Karen Hoelscher of West; one brother, Henry Snokhous of West; one sister, Marie Crozier of Arlington; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Stanislav, Richard Gajdosik, David Snokhous, Clifford Archer, Cecil Friend and Dwain H. Snokhous. Honorary pallbearers were members of V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West and members of West Fire Department. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
