Bio

Lawrence J. (Snake) Sembera, age 47, of West, passed away late Monday evening, September 26, 1994 at a Waco hospital. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ed Karasek. Mass of Christian Burial is to be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial is to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mr. Sembera was born July 1, 1947 in West, the son of Emil and Adel Sembera. He married Doris Hlavaty on May 11, 1968 in West. He worked for Sligh Lumber Company in Waco for 26 years until February of 1994. He then worked for Payless Cashways in Waco. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He served his country with the United States Army from March of 1967 to July 1967 and then entered the Army reserves to complete his tour of duty. He is survived by his wife, Doris Sembera of West; two sons, Dale Sembera and his wife Kathy, and Brian Sembera, all of West; one daughter, Renee Sembera of West; his parents, Emil and Adel Sembera of West; two brothers, Emil Sembera, Jr. of Waco and Alvin Sembera of West; two sisters, Jaroline Kolar of West and Mary Ann Sexton of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
