Bio

Mary M. Lander, age 82 of West, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 15, in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 1 p.m. Sunday followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:15 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek, as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mrs. Lander was born June 12, 1928 in West and had lived in the West area all her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Catholic Daughters of America Court #829, K.J.Z.T. Society #11 and the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #6. She also was a faithful member of the Brides of the Most Blessed Trinity, a Blessed Apostolate that prays for priests. Mrs. Lander loved to cook and bake kolaches and had cooked for numerous wedding receptions. She is preceded in death by three brothers, John Mynar, Frank Mynar, and Joe Mynar, Jr.; two sisters, Rosie Urbish and Annie Mynar and grandson, Paul Wayne Lenart. Mrs. Lander is survived by three daughters, Margaret Lenart and husband, Robert, Sr., Henrietta Mach and husband Mike, and Mary Lander all of West; one brother, Edward Mynar of West; five sisters, Lillie Hromadka, Frances Chase, Willie Mae Cervenka, Agnes Atkins and Josephine Smith, all of West; five grandchildren, Michele Mach, Christy Mach, Kevin Mach, Robert Lenart, Jr. and Sherry Lenart; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Active Pallbearers were Jered Rochester, Kevin Mach, Robert Lenart, Jr., Jeff Mullen, Brandon Kaluza and Justin Kaluza. Honorary Pallbearers were Lillie Marie Mynar, Mary Veselka, Mary Frances Kolar, Geraldine Kolar, Mary Ann Pavlovsky, all nieces and nephews and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 of West.
