Mrs. Anton (Rosie) Kolar, age 77 of West, passed away Monday evening, July 8, 1996, in a Temple hospital. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. July 11 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with the Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Bernard Pustejovsky as co-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mrs. Kolar was born March 12, 1919 in Hill County and had lived in Hill County and the West area all of her life. She had been employed at Ben Franklin and West Food Mart for the past 35 years. Mrs. Kolar was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #66. She married Anton J. Kolar, January 15, 1940 at West. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1993. Mrs. Kolar is survived by two sons; Bill Kolar of West and Harry Kolar of Caldwell; five daughters, Mrs. Alfons (Doris) Gerik of Ross, Mrs. Morris Lee (Irene) Degner of Malone, Mrs. Earl (Helen) Ehlers of Houston, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Neill and Mrs. Mike (Annette) Owen, both of West; four brothers, Emil Nors and Ernest Nors, both of West, Henry Nors, Jr. of Ross and William Nors of Northcrest; five sisters, Marie Soukup, Henrietta Chudej, Marcella Kaska and Evelyn Pratka, all of West and Lillian Kissinger of Northcrest; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers are Dennis Degner, Jason Neill, Glenn Gerik, Kevin Neill, Chris Ashley and Keith Ashley. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Gerik, Shawn Kolar and Shane Kolar.
