Bio

Florentine was a sister to Veronika Petras Nemecek. Also buried in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in West TX. Mrs. Florentina Jaska, pioneer resident of this community, passed away on Monday of this week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Soukup. Deceased was 88 years of age. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. E. J. Polcak officiating. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Jaska was born in Czechoslovakia, coming to the United States 30 years ago. The family came directly to West where Mrs. Jaska continued to make her home. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Soukup and Mrs. Frank Ceska, both of West; one son, Louis Jaska, and a sister, Mrs. Kolenovsky. The West News, Friday, April 3, 1942. Page 1.
