Bio

Mrs. Louis (Christine) Hutyra, 90, of Route 2, West, died Tuesday evening, January 10, 1989 in a West Hospital. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West, the Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, Msgr. George Doskocil as Celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mrs. Hutyra was born July 24, 1898, near West and lived in the West-Abbott area all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West and KJZT Society #11. She married Louis Hutyra on June 9, 1919, in West. She was preceded in death by a son Ernest Hutyra who died in 1966. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Joe Hutyra of Bellmead and George Hutyra of Waco; three daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Carolyn) Gerik, Mrs. Irene McGee and Mrs. Lawrence (Helen) Schutza, all of West; one daughter-in-law Olga Hutyra of West; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ronnie Gerik, Jeff Hutyra, Gary Hutyra, Mike McGee, Tommy Gerik and David Pavelka. Honorary pallbearers were Douglas Cannon, Bryan Gerik, Daryl Gerik, Ricky Gerik, Ernie Gerik, Paul Hutyra and Matt McGee.
