Willie Mae Holecek, age 84, of West, passed away late Sunday evening, November 9, 2014 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Paul Hudson and Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Willie Mae was born May 29, 1930 in Hill County, the daughter of Willie Joe and Frances (Pustejovsky) Pokluda. She attended Abbott and Alligator Creek schools. On November 22, 1949 she was united in marriage to Henry J. Holecek in Abbott. Henry preceded her in death on March 23, 1985. Willie Mae worked in Dietary Services at St. Mary's School, West Elementary School and West Community Hospital. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America Court #829 and the V.F.W. Post #4819 Ladies Auxiliary. Willie Mae enjoyed taking gambling trips, cooking, attending Friday morning coffee at the Village Bakery, gardening, canning and making chicken noodle soup. She especially loved spending time with her family. Willie Mae is also preceded in death by her parents; her guardian angel of 15 years, Robert Pavelka; and a brother, Bill "Swamp" Pokluda.
