Shotgun Wound Proves Fatal To W.J. Pokluda Willie J. Pokluda, 37, died Saturday morning a few minutes after the shotgun he was carrying was accidentally discharged. According to reports of his family, Mr. Pokluda stepped out of his farm home near West Saturday to shoot a dog that was proving to be a nuisance, A few minutes after hearing a muffled report, one of his six children looked out of the window of the home and discovered his father lying near a tree. A doctor was summoned, but Mr. Pokluda had died. The discharge had entered his abdomen, causing almost instantaneous death. Funeral services for Mr. Pokluda were held in the chapel of the Aderhold Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. E.J. Polcak officiating. Interment was at the Catholic Cemetery near West. Mr. Pokluda, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pokluda, was born in the West Community on October 19, 1907. After attending school for several years, he took up farming. For the past three years, he was operating the B.B. Ingraham farm between West and Abbott.
