Robert Gerlich, 77, Dies; Rites Held Wednesday Robert A. Gerlich, 77, of West died Saturday morning in a Hillsboro hospital. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James O'Connor officiating. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Gerlich was born in Shiner and lived in New York for about 30 years. He had lived in West for the past 11 years. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Alfred Gerlich of St. Louis, Mo., and Reynold Gerlich of Queens, N.Y.; one daughter, Mrs. Adell Ruzicka of Long Island, N.Y.; two brothers, Eugene Gerlich of West and Dan Gerlich of Santa Maria, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Alvina Podsednik of Dallas, Mrs. Emma Walters of Santa Maria, Calif., and Mrs. Henrietta Pratten of Ventura, Calif.; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Eugene Gerlich, Jr., William Gerlich, Henry Gerlich, John Chudej, Adolph Janecka, Jr., and Ernest Janecka.
