Mrs. Gerik, 82, Of Abbott Dies; Rites Held Wed. Mrs. John (Mary) Gerik, 82, of Abbott, died early Monday in a Hillsboro hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Requiem mass was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott with Rev. W. Pechal as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at West. Mrs. Gerik was born in West and had lived in the Abbott-West area all her life. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Abbott, the church's Altar-Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 829 of West. Her husband died in 1969. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Jerome Janak of West; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Robert Marak, Edwin Gerik, Daniel Gerik, Eugene Gerik, Eddie Schultz, and Harry Janek.
