Bio

Tillie Sumner Dvoracek, age 87 of West, passed away Thursday morning, May 27, 2004 at West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited 1 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2004, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:15 p.m. at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Dvoracek was born June 20, 1916 in McLennan County. She married Edwin Sumner in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1953. On April 4, 1959 she married Louis Dvoracek and he preceded her in death in 1992. She graduated from Providence School of Nursing as a RN in 1940, and she worked in nursing in various Waco area hospitals and as a McLennan County Health Nurse before retiring in 1978. Mrs. Dvoracek was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West where she was a Eucharistic Minister and lector and a member of the PTC Choir, Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 and KJZT Society #11 of West. Survivors include her son, Dr. Hatton Sumner and wife Linda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three brothers, Bob Cervenka of Waco, Edward Cervenka of Dallas and Raymond Cervenka of Austin; a sister, Lillian Nemecek of West; four grandchildren, Catherine Cordona and husband Chris of New York, New York, Matthew Sumner of San Francisco, California, Philip Sumner of Scottsdale, Arizona and John Sumner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Active pallbearers were Nick Cervenka, Mark Cervenka, Greg Cervenka, Bob Cervenka, Bernie Lenart and Charles Ramn. Honorary Pallbearers were Jimmy Kolacek, Tim Nemecek and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829.
