Bio

Joseph Anton Chudej, 69, of West died at 5 p.m. Sunday in West. Mr. Chudej was born near Ross and had lived in the West area all his life. He was an employee of McLennan County for about 15 years. He retired about 5 years ago because of ill health. He was a member of the KJT Lodge No. 31 at West. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Jones of Waco; one step-daughter, Mrs. Raymond Dassing of San Antonio; one son, Joseph R. Chudej of Amarillo; three sisters, Mrs. Ben Kudelka of Ross, and Mrs. Joe Kudelka and Mrs. Joe Juroch, both of West; two brothers, Ambro Chudej of Bellmead and Frank Chudej of West; and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Henry Chudej, Tony Chudej, Clarence Hlavaty, Jodie Prasifka, James Bottom and Leo Dennis. Published in The West News Friday, January 19, 1968 texashistory.unt.edu
