J.F. Chudej, Pioneeer Citizen, Dies Sunday Joseph F. Chudej, age 66, died at his home near here on Sunday, November 24th. Mr. Chudej was born in Czechoslovakia, moving to this country about 30 years ago and settled near West. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, with Msgr. Jos. Pelnar officiating. Interment was at the Catholic cemetery near here. Surviving are his widow; four daughters, Mrs. A.T. Ermis of Fort Worth, Mrs. Joe Kudelka of Ross, Mrs. Ben Kudelka, Ross, and Mrs. Joe Juroch, Ross; three sons, Frank, Ambrose and Joseph, all of West; five step-children, Mrs. Rud. Stanislav, John, Ivan, Ben and Bernard Cernosek of West; three brothers, John, Vince and Louis Chudej; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Holecka, Mt. Calm, Mrs. Joe Sykora, Elk and Mrs. Joe Kohut, Cyclone; eighteen grandchildren. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 46, No. 27, Edition 1, Friday, November 29, 1935, page 1.
