Even though his name was Leonard Cecil Crockett he was always known as Cecil that is why his tombstone reads Cecil L. I did not know Grandpa Cecil as he died before I was born. Waco Tribune Herald June 26, 1955 Section 1 page 21 Section 11 Page 15 also. C.L. Crockett Rites Monday Cecil L. Crockett, 55, of Route 1, Hitchcock, died at this home at 9:45 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at Conally Chapel at 10 a.m. Monday with Rev. Roy L. Smith officiati ong, burial in Rosemound Cemetary. Mr. Crockett worked for the Moody Bank for the last five years. He was born in Thorton. Survivors include his widow, Mrs Helen Crockett of Hitchcock; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Kiggans of Lawton, Ok., Mrs. Mary McDaniel of 1208 Spring Street. Mrs. James Pierce of 3500 North Ninteenth Street and Mrs. James Cunningham of Norton: two sons W.C. Crockett of Rosharon and Phillip Yarborough of Hitchcock. one brother J.W. Crockett of Norton: one sister Mrs. E.W . Rash of Bellmead: his father T.A. Crockett of 1208 Spring Street : 13 grandchildren.
